general rules.I. this website is rated R. this is not for sexual content. this is for language, violence, drug abuse, etc, but absolutely nothing sexual. otherwise, you can expect such subjects in normal roleplays on here because it makes the website more realistic. if you have a problem with it, you can leave.
II. everything related to intimacy must be kept undercontrol. nothing too explicit, although innuendos are fine.
III. you will be nice to everyone. harrassment of anyone is strictly prohibited, including racism, sexism, and anything of the like.
IV. please, no preaching religion. it's fine if your character has a certain religion and wants to explain and debate about it, but no one here wants to be told what to believe.
V. the staff are to be respected. each and every one has the right to ban players, and will do so.
VI. no stealing. at all.
VII. be nice. it's very simple. this is a roleplay, meant to be entertaining, not stressful to the members.

V. this is a literate website. you must be able to use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation to roleplay here. if you cannot, this is not the website for you.
VI. no god-moding or power playing. if you don't know what these are, you probably don't belong here.
VII. if you do not normally write long posts, you are still welcome here, since I myself don't always do so. but, to be curteous, try to at least write as much as the person you are roleplaying with. either that, or give them enough to reply to.
VIII. your characters are allowed to be in more than one place at a time, but remember to keep active all around.
IX. you are allowed as many characters as you like, and you don't have to make different accounts for them.

XII. there are no rules concerning pets you may have, but unless you have private property, please keep it down to small, normal animals.

II. if you don't have a claim on something, anyone is allowed to take it.
III. if you will not use something, such as a screen name or cell phone number, you do not have to claim one.
IV. if someone else has already claimed it, you may not use it.

vampire traits.- cannot go out in the sun. they will not instantly combust, but will begin to smoulder a thick, black smoke, which is rather painful to them, and eventually dry out and catch fire. devices called “night keepers” are made to be worn as a necklace, bracelet, and more expensive rings and other pieces of jewelry. when wearing a night keeper, vampires can go out in the sun with no consequences. these are quite common to come upon and most vampires have, and wear, more than one for safety purposes.
- pale skin. vampires can use tanning sprays and lotions, but cannot tan in a booth or naturally, if they do, see above trait.
- golden eyes. these can be hidden with contacts easily. no, the contacts do not desinegrate over time.
- fangs. they aren’t visible normally, and only appear when the owner is hunting, preying, or fighting.
- immortality. all vampires live forever. the sunlight can kill them if they are in it's rays for a time, but otherwise they have to be ripped apart and burned to be considered "destroyed".
- abnormal strength. they have around seven times the amount of a normal human. this takes training to control, but is quite easy for all vamps to use, even if they don’t exercise regularly.
- the need to drink blood. although all vampires must drink blood, some can control their need more than others depending on the age of the vampire or when they were turned. it takes training to control this. newly turned vampires will normally have no control of themselves because of this until a period of time, which depends on the person, has gone past. if a vampire goes too long without drinking blood, their eyes begin to turn red, and eventually black. their hunger can also drive them into insanity and into dangerous blood rages.
- abnormal speed. vampires in general move very gracefully and smoothely, as if they are floating instead of walking. otherwise, they can move up to five times as fast as any human, and this can take training to control.
- vertical ascention. all vampires can defy gravity. this does not mean they can fly, but they can ascend vertical surfaces, such as walls. they can stand on ceilings as well, but doing these things requires some concentration, making the action difficult for newborns.
- do not tire. vampires cannot become winded or tired. this also means they do not sleep. despite this, after a blood rage, vampires can become their own version of "tired" in which they must take a break in order to gain back the energy to continue, but still do not sleep. this also occasionally happens when newborns are learning their powers or elder vampires excessively use them.
- the ability to turn humans. all vampires have the ability to make other vampires by biting humans. this process is called "turning" and is extremely dangerous, mostly because the initial taste of blood can set off a blood rage and the vampire will not be able to stop himself from drinking. vampires do not have to turn the humans they bite though. they can simply bite, drink, and then step away, leaving the human a bit dazed from the lack of blood, but otherwise perfectly fine. this takes a great amount of control though, and only older vampires may do it safely. for most vampires, this is considered very intimate.
- lots of money. when money sits around in a bank account over time, the interest eventually pays off. this makes most vampires fairly rich.
vampire thoughts on humans. [/font] the general belief of vampires about humans; they are necessary for survival. a vampire’s belief on humans is as close to religion as the species gets, and so this decision is often a life-changing one.
a good majority of the race live amidst humans, using night keepers and such to blend in with them. these vampires find them fascinating and enjoy interacting with them. some are just trying to make a life for themselves as they once had. these vampires, trying to keep themselves under control, get blood from blood banks or kill animals to sustain themselves. the vampires which live with humans must be older and have the ability to control themselves. any vampire can lose their grip and end up killing a human - which will get them hunted by older vampires and killed - so each and every one must take care not to. there are no rules on the relationships that vampires have with humans - they can even tell them of their vampirism or turn them so long as it does not jeopardize the breed - and some vampires have intimate relationships with humans. these relationships are often very strenuous though, and vampires most often end up turning their partners.
others live in specified areas where humans are not located. these, which live apart from the humans, believe them to be primal and instinctive creatures, their short life spans making them greedy and close-minded. these vampires are supposed to find blood the same way as the others, blood banks and wild animals, but there is a brand of evil vampires lurking in the shadows. these vamps are normally young and foolish, easily terminated by higher ranking vampires who support the human breed. others are older, possibly changed from their prior human-supporting ways, and are much larger threats. human thoughts on vampires.[/font] since the beginning of time, there has been speculation on the existence of vampires. the human population, though, has the general belief that the breed has never existed or has been wiped from the planet by the hoards of stakers in the early centuries of human existence. this is because vampires decided long ago that it was in the populations best interest if they did not know.
only one branch of the government has complete knowledge of the breed's existence. they are a secret organization, kept in the dark to even the president, who supports the vampires in any way possible in exchange for peace. a portion of every blood sample donated goes to blood banks all over the world where it is stored for only vampires to access. these stores do not cost the vampires any money, but they are only allowed a certain amount per week. on the other hand, vampires are allowed to hunt animals at all times of the year, with the exception of all endangered species.
the only other humans with the knowledge of vampire existence are the ones completely and utterly trusted by the vampires they personally know and are told by them. these people normally have known said vampire for a prolonged period of time, or have found themselves in serious relationships with them. these relationships normally end with the humans being turned because they wish for the lack of limits on time to be with said vampire. nonetheless, turnings are rare and incredibly dangerous. things to know.- this roleplay is based in two main places, Arlington, Washington [where all the humans and a few vampires live], and Silverdown, Antarctica [the vampire capital of the world where no humans are located]. these two locations both have categories respectively.
- vampires that live in Arlington normally have to be over fifty years of age [since they became a vampire, that is] because younger vampires normally cannot resist the smell of blood. these rules aren't specifically enforced by anyone, but older vampires will not hesitate to kill a newborn if they make a mistake. because of this, newborns are allowed to stay, but must be a good distance away from humans until they are not a threat. staff members may have vampires that are younger and able to resist the smell of blood.
- vampires are allowed to change humans into vampires whenever they want, but the roleplayer of the human must consent to it.
- a vampire character cannot kill a human character without consent of the human's roleplayer. still, older vampires will probably not be happy with said vampire even if consent from the roleplayer was given.
- when a human is turned, they normally travel to Antarctica immediately so that they can adjust to their new powers and their thirst. vampires must also register themselves when they travel here.
- no time jumping. it gets far too confusing.
- for the purposes of this website, Arlington will always look the same no matter how much time goes by.
- rogue vampires will be taken down by older ones. very simple.
- in Antarctica, there are no humans, and thus vampires can age and learn to control their thirst more easily.
- please refrain from having your character go anywhere besides the places specified.
- because some vampires in Silverdown cannot resist the desire to feed upon humans, and thus why they live here, humans are illegal. consequentially, the transport and housing of humans is illegal and punishments will be carried out. this doesn't mean that it doesn't happen though. occasionally, for the protection of knowledgeable humans, they are taken here.
- vampire females cannot carry children, but a vampire male may have a child with a human, but this is extremely rare and has only happened a handful of times, all following with the human being turned or killed.
- all of these guidelines may be broken for the purposes of plot, but please pm a staff member to ok it first.

popular vocabulary- word; word type; example; description of word.
- blood rage; noun; went into a blood rage; a dangerous state for vampires in which they lose control and can no longer recognise faces or comprehend communication. vampires become very reckless and move towards the closest living blood source with no other thought than consuming it. only very strong vampires can train themselves to break out of a blood rage. blood rages are most commonly caused by extreme thirst, or simply young vampires being inexperienced.
- night keeper; noun; wore many night keepers; a device in the form of jewelery worn by vampires in order for them to sustain UV rays. this therefore allows them to go out in the sun.
- to turn; verb; he was turned; the act of being turned from a mortal to an immortal; from a human to a vampire.
got anything else to add to this list? pm a staff member and they will be happy to add it.
